Help us spread Christmas cheer!

Each year, the Sharing God’s Bounty family brings Christmas to those we serve, through Christmas dinner, presents from Santa, family photos, and more. To make this magical event possible, we organize volunteer positions ahead of time. We gather necessities like toiletries and socks, as well as candy and toys, in enormous quantities. We depend entirely on voluntary donations to meet our needs, so we welcome your help!

This year, we celebrate Christmas on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. The dinner itself will be served from about 5:45 until about 7:00 PM. However, we expect the Santa Claus line to extend until as late as 8:30 or 9:00 PM. Volunteers that evening may arrive as early as 4:00 or 4:30 PM to receive an assignment and perhaps help with the set-up. It is not necessary to remain the entire evening, but if you will be leaving before the final clean-up, please inform the assignment captains (the people in green aprons) so that we can plan for coverage of all the jobs throughout the evening.

If you are unable to volunteer on December 18, look for volunteer opportunities during our present wrapping party on Saturday, December 16. Any volunteer opportunities on dates other than December 18 are clearly marked with their dates.

If you want to help, we can use you. Our volunteers uniformly report that service at this magical dinner is one of the most important and memorable events of the year. It can be a long evening, but it is incredibly satisfying!

Volunteer opportunities

While we certainly make sure our guests enjoy a hearty Christmas dinner, we also provide a number of other services during our Christmas dinner. Hot chocolatiers spread Christmas joy (and much needed warmth) to the families waiting in line to see Santa and his elves. Carolers keep spirits high for volunteers and guests alike. And, of course, our bilingual line monitors help direct guests to the appropriate lines. You can browse our wide array of volunteer opportunities and sign up for open positions on our Christmas volunteer page.

Donation needs

We give thousands of gifts to the children who come through our doors, and we give a pair of warm socks to every adult. These items all come to Bounty through donations from volunteers and from those who simply wish to spread Christmas cheer. Whether you’re able to donate a single pair of socks or a hundred, we welcome your donations. You can see what we still need this year, and sign up to bring it, on our Christmas donation page.
